Schools & supplies
Delivering school supplies and thoughtful curriculum enhancements to rural classrooms.

Strobell Family Foundation · Serving since 1998
We bring families and volunteers face to face with the communities they serve — building homes and schools, running clinics, and learning alongside the people of rural Guatemala.
Our mission
We help people understand poverty and its root causes by going and seeing for themselves.
Individuals and families serve directly, through hands-on experiences in the villages.
We raise funds together with local organizations and Rotary partners who know each community.

Our story
Dan Strobell set out overland through Mexico to help hurricane victims in Honduras, with his young children in tow. He ended up in Guatemala — and stayed. What started as getting to know the rural villages became a decades-long family commitment.

Delivering school supplies and thoughtful curriculum enhancements to rural classrooms.

Building sturdy homes and schools that keep families safe from the elements.
Efficient stoves that use less fuel and send smoke outside, not into the home.
Village clinics offering diagnosis, treatment, eyeglasses and health education.
Training local midwives in Helping Babies Breathe and the use of life-saving equipment.
Small loans that help families start and grow their own livelihoods.

“Our vision is to empower people to perform good works that make a meaningful impact in the lives of others — and in their own.”
